You were fabulous; a natural on radio and made everything relatable and informative.
There was so much more we could have discussed, I’m sorry we ran out of time but on the plus side it means we will definitely have to have you back on the show sometime soon!
Afternoon Show Producer
BBC Radio Leeds
Shannon has run a number of sessions for us at the insider ideas group from:
She is easy to communicate with, very responsive and always delivers a professional and engaging session.
The feedback we have had from employees have been so positive that we continued to use Shannon over the last year.
She has interacted with our employees all over the world and creates an environment where employees feel safe and at ease to talk and interact.
The sessions are always well thought through and give lots of opportunity for participation. I would like to add my thanks to you for the two sessions you delivered to students and staff at St Mary's.
I hope you will be pleased to read some of the positive feedback I have received from colleagues
"Your time with us was overwhelmingly positive and full of insightful knowledge."
“It was really helpful and nice to see everybody "together"! I found Shannon to be really personable and knowledgeable, and I can certainly take things for myself from the session”.
“I thought the session was excellent. it served as a useful reminder of some techniques which can easily be put into practice to help keep things in perspective”.
“The coping strategies towards the end (e.g. let things go a bit, don't stress too much over what other people do) were very useful and I will try to put those into practice. I thought the whole session went really quickly - it didn't seem like an hour as it was fun!”
“I enjoyed answering the questions and found it very interesting listening to the facts, a real reminder as to how easy it is to forget to take time out for yourself. Always difficult though during the school day.
The ways in which we cope with stress was a reminder for me to take time out”.
Thank you so much for your excellent presentation on Stress Management.
I was really impressed with your professionalism and engagement of the group, the topic and guidance that you provided was a timely reminder for our staff to look after one another’s mental health and well-being.
I think you should take great encouragement from the large number of interactions from so many staff as an indicator of how well it went.
We look forward to working with you in the future.
After attending the Digital Awareness session today, I had to write a glowing review for Pathways for Positivity. The session was engaging, informative and eye-opening, and I left feeling inspired and motivated. Shannon is very knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about wellbeing but delivers the workshop in a fun and friendly way that works for all.
I look forward to attending more of her workshops in future! 5⭐️
A recent survey with Elliott Hudson’s Year 13s highlighted a need for an activity that focuses on wellbeing and coping with anxiety. Most of our students who are applying for Higher Education study are feeling anxious about the transition from college to HE since the pandemic began. Shannon at Pathways for Positivity had been recommended to me.
Shannon was easy to reach and replied promptly to my email. I understand this request was slightly out of remit for Pathways for Positivity, with the workshops and activities usually running a live format rather than pre-recorded. However, Shannon was able to adapt to Elliott Hudson’s needs and provide a presentation that was relevant, engaging and well received by staff and students.
Students rated the presentation as excellent and came away with a good understanding of how they could adopt simple coping mechanisms to manage their anxieties going forward in their education. The presentation was a suitable length and included lots of interesting information, it wasn’t too long or too short for an assembly.
Elliott Hudson will certainly use this presentation again for our current Year 12s, as all students can relate to the topics being discussed. Shannon has been approachable and responsive to Elliott Hudson’s requests and I’d be keen to work with her again in the future.
All four of the weeks helped me in different ways to control my anxiety. The first week made the biggest difference to me, I have been using the techniques like counting my breaths in time with my heartbeat to reduce my stress in the moment. And I have been using the Mindfulness techniques to de-stress at the end of the day so that I can take my mind off of school .Not to mention it's really helpful when I'm struggling to fall asleep.
The Resilience session made me realise that I push my self and persevere more that I realise this made me feel a lot more confident in my abilities.
Before the goal setting session I already had a career/education goal but it did push me to make other goals like climbing mam tor and loose hill in under 4 hours (which I did last week, I'm very proud about that)
Overall the programme has had a great impact on me and the way I think and live my life, both mentally and physically.
“It was so great and refreshing to see Shannon in action at a local school careers panel. Speaking so openly to the students about owning a business, living the truth about mental health, wellbeing and positive thinking was fantastic to see.
Sometimes as adults, we get lost in the moment of telling students what they NEED to do. Shannon was able to empower the students with knowledge which is something more powerful than advice. It was really great to listen and learn.”
Pathways for Positivity have delivered three sessions for our students, covering Mindfulness, Anxiety and EFT stress release techniques, all delivered live and online.
Throughout, Shannon has been a pleasure to workl with and has been flexible and accommodating to the College's needs to make organising the sessions straightforward.
The content was very well tailored to be relevant to our students' context (Sixth Formers aged 16 to 18) and Shannon is a highly engaging presenter who takes the time to help guests feel included and adapts the session on the spot to build support for their needs.
In just a short space of time, it has been wonderful to see the students' confidence and resilience grow as a result of taking part in Pathways for Positivity sessions, helping set them up to achieve to the best of their ability in their study and personal lives. Thanks very much!
The Stress Awareness Workshop delivered via Zoom, was really engaging, Shannon was enthusiastic and interesting to listen to. I enjoyed the interactive element to the workshop and the use of visual aids. Shannon was very knowledgeable and I understand stress a lot more after the session. I have definitely taken a lot from this session and have learned some useful tips to manage stress in my everyday life.

Having attended Shannon's workshops and also booked her to lead confidence building / mindfulness sessions for students at school I could not recommend Shannon enough. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and approach are amazing and I look forward to working with her again very soon ❤
I contacted Shannon after reading her column in a local newspaper. I was keen to start a local wellbeing group in the community for people who wanted to get together to talk about ways to manage their wellbeing.
Shannon had some fantastic ideas and she ran some great sessions for us at St. Mary’s.
She pitched it just right and got everyone talking.
Thanks so much Shannon – it was really good working with you to get this group started.

I would recommend the session to everyone!
The Digital Awareness Workshop was a brilliant informative session that has heightened my awareness of how addicted we are to our phones, and offered ways of how to limit our phone usage so that we can be more present.
It has definitely made me look at this differently. I had my first “technology free” evening yesterday. Having attended Shannon's workshops and also booked her to lead confidence building / mindfulness sessions for students at school I could not recommend Shannon enough. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and approach are amazing and I look forward to working with her again very soon ❤
